Chicken Wings: A Versatile, Household Favorite
Whether you are cooking an appetizer for a Super Bowl party, a snack for the weekend, or dinner for your family, chicken wings are an easy and versatile dish that can make you a ton of fans. In addition to being simple and inexpensive, one great thing about chicken wings is that there are so many different ways to cook them.
Most people are familiar with fried chicken wings or Buffalo wings, but there are also recipes for Teriyaki-style wings and baked wings that are worth mentioning. Whether you are an experienced chef or curious food-lover, the following chicken wing recipes are sure to please.
1. Fried Chicken Wings
Fried chicken wings are probably the most common variation, but still pack some of the best flavor. Surprisingly enough, there are numerous ways to prepare fried wings so no one recipe is the same.
The common tie between most recipes is that the chicken is coated in a seasoned flour mixture before being placed in some sort of cooking oil (vegetable, peanut, canola, or corn oil usually). The seasonings used in the flour mixture can be as different as colors on the rainbow, but that is what makes fried chicken so fun!
For those that have health concerns, there are also recipes for oven-fried chicken that eliminate the need to use cooking oil.

2. Buffalo Wings
Anchor Bar: Home of the Original Buffalo Wing
It should be obvious, but Buffalo Wings (also known as hot wings) were first made in Buffalo, New York. Many people have credited the Anchor Bar of being the birthplace of Buffalo Wings.
The traditional Buffalo Wing is made up of chicken wings that have been deep-fried and then tossed in a sauce made up of butter and hot sauce usually made of cayenne pepper. In most cases, people deep-fry the wings first without a flour coating, but there are some varieties in which people add hot spices and seasonings to the wings prior to deep-frying them.

I love those wings I get from the Chinese places. Marinate the wings in teriyaki/soy sauce mixture up to 24 hours. Then take them out and pat them dry with a paper towel and remove as much moisture as you can. Then place them into your deep fryer. Last time I made them they came out excellent!
Great hub, big fan of buffalo wings myself. Specially for Game day !
