WebNuggetz: An Alternative Revenue Sharing Site to Squidoo and Hubpages

Write Posts and Generate Extra Income

I joined Squidoo back in November 2010 and Hubpages in February 2011 for a variety of reasons. The first reason is that I just enjoy writing about random topics. I also enjoy knowing that the things I write about sometimes enlighten other people. It's also a great feeling to be able to read what other people have written and share a sense of community with them. An added bonus is the fact that I have a chance to make a little bit of income while people are reading the content that I have produced. Money is not the main motivator, but I won't lie it sure doesn't hurt.

Well a little earlier today, I came across another site that may try to work its way into the content provider arena. The name of the site is WebNuggetz, and it appears to have been created by a group of people who are already familiar with places like Squidoo, Hubpages, and Zazzle. They created a place that allows writers to continue making great content while also enabling them to keep 100% of the Adsense and Amazon revenue that each writer generates.

There are still plenty of questions that will need to be answered, but it appears that WebNuggetz may just become a viable source of income for the writing/content community.

Key Features

Although the WebNuggetz community is extremely new, there are some features that are extremely interesting.

  • The format of the site is almost like a very large community based Wordpress blog. Each writer has the opportunity to add his Google Adsense code so that it appears at the bottom of each post that is written. The writer gets to keep 100% of the revenue generated by the Adsense banners on the main part of the page. WebNuggetz only keeps the Adsense revenue from the ads that display in the sidebars.
  • The site also allows writers to work in other affiliate programs like Zazzle, Amazon, and AllPosters. The Zazzle feature was particularly interesting because it enables you to add a few lines of code to your page resulting in a very clean looking product grid. The Zazzle Wordpress plug-in definitely adds to the visual appeal on this one. Writers are also able to add their Amazon Affiliate ID in order to make money off any Amazon products sold on their pages. If somethign does sell, the writer gets to keep 100% of the Amazon referral money.
  • Similar to Squidoo and Hubpages, WebNuggetz also has a Forums section and the ability to keep up with what other members of the community are doing. You can also add friends, leave comments, and encourage other members as they work on creating their own piece of the collective pie. A bonus from me is that the site is so new that many of the comments are coming from the creators of the site themselves. I happen to like their hands on approach and I know that as the community grows it probably won't be as easy for them to continue this method.
  • The site also has a Backlinks section, which allows you to enter links to any special lenses or hubs that you would like to promote. WebNuggetz allows other users to see the links and also vote on how good they are. A little extra exposure never hurts, and it's good to see that your lenses and hubs can still get some love while you are working at WebNuggetz.

Conclusion

Ultimately it comes down to giving the place a try. I just joined today, and I have enjoyed working my way through the site. It takes a moment to get used to creating posts for those not used to Wordpress, but I happen to enjoy learning new things so that wasn't a problem for me. It remains to be seen what kind of traffic the site will bring in, but a lot of that is going to depend on the content that is created and how well people can get the word out about the site. If you enjoy creating new content, and want to be a part of something with a lot of potential, I say give it a try. I'm sure as time goes by there will be more in depth reviews and tutorials, and I will do my best to let you know what kind of success I have there.

Thanks for stopping by hotwebideas. I really like the community over at WebNuggetz. Actually I've enjoyed the community aspect of Hubpages and Squidoo too. It's fun to write and know that people are genuinely interested in what you have to say. Very motivating!

Hey Slappy, since your hub on WebNuggetz was published, I was brought onto the pioneer team to develop some functionality with them. I am now in the same company as Dianne.

@Dianne: Let's kick butt and make this a kick butt website.

That's awesome hwi!

Every time I go back there, it seems like the place is getting better and better. Great group of people and great ideas coming out of there. I hope to do more writing this week so I can get a few new posts here and there.

Congrats again!

I recently joined WebNuggetz, too. I'm enjoying it very much, but still have MUCH to learn. Very nice article here!

Thank you mbrownauthor. I think they have the potential to do some special things out there. I'm looking forward to seeing it grow.

I have a lot to learn with it as well. I'm not the best with Wordpress, but I enjoy figuring out the different ways to modify my posts.

You're welcome Idea Gal! The people out at WebNuggetz are great. They'll be happy to have you there also.

I need to get myself in gear again on all of the sites. I got a little slack over the summer.
